The Elon Law Alumni Association welcomed its first 107 members on May 24, 2009 when the Charter Class of Elon University School of Law graduated.

Graduation took place at Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, North Carolina. David Gergen was the keynote speaker, and after the ceremony, graduates paraded through downtown Greensboro with a bagpipe band.

Congratulations to the winners of the M&M Mania contest! Today at the Graduation Fair, 3L students had the opportunity to guess the number of M&Ms in the vase - and the Winners are...

GRAND PRIZE: Erin O'Connell.... her guess: 1614, actual: 1682. Congratulations Erin! She will receive a complimentary weekend evening stay at either the Proximity or O'Henry Hotel.

SECOND PLACE WINNERS: Aaron Bennett and Amy Holthouser. Congratulations Aaron and Amy! They will receive gift certificates to their choice of the Green Valley Grill, Print Works Bistro, or Lucky 32.

CLASS GIFT UPDATE:

To date, the Charter Class Gift campaign has raised $3,311.44 from the Charter Class, and $1,380.59 from Faculty and Staff!

A whopping 84% of the Charter Class has donated to the Class Gift - let's keep it up and reach 100%! Remember, a pledge card counts toward our 100% - you can make your payment anytime before May 1.

We are proud to announce that 33 % of the Charter Class has contributed to the Charter Class Gift, and we have raised a total of $2,053.00!

With our goal of 100 % participation by The Graduation Fair on March 2, 2009 quickly approaching, we have added many opportunities for the Charter Class to contribute!

MAKE THE BAROMETER RISE ON:
February 19, 2009 - Bar Prep Class
February 23, 2008 - Drawing at 5:00 p.m., after the NC Civil Practice Class
February 26, 2009 - Bar Prep Class
March 2, 2009 - 10:00-2:00, Graduation Fair, Goal of 100% Participation

To celebrate Charter Class Giving, we will have a drawing on

Monday, February 23, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., after the NC Civil Practice Class for those who have donated thus far!

If you have donated your $20.09 to the Society of 2009 by Monday, February 23, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., you will be eligible for a drawing awarding two $25.00 gift certificates to the local restaurant, Riva's.

If you have donated $50.09 or more by Monday, February, 23, 2009 at 5:00 p.m., you will be eligible for a drawing awarding two Wake Forest Mens Basketball Tickets to either the N.C. State Game, on Thursday February 26, 2009 at 8:00 p.m., or the Clemson Game, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 6:00, p.m. - your choice!
